Growing up in a family of professional craftsmen I learned woodworking from an early age. After building my first guitar at the age of fourteen I decided that is what i would do with my life. I continued playing and building guitars through high school and into college. In high school I studied with teachers such as Kami Rowan and Patrick Lui. After high school I attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in the studio of David Tannenbaum. Despite my love for performance, at the age of 19 I decided to leave school and start my own shop.
Since establishing my shop I have done constant research and experimentation to further my craft. I am primarily self taught, but over the years I have had the privilege to study with many great instrument builders. I have studied bass violin restoration with Gael Mckeon of Berkeley String Bass Studio and have continued collaborating on builds/restorations. Most recently studied guitar voicing with master luthier Ervin Somogyi. All of my experience and studies have developed into my guitars signature look and sound.
